The Promise Of Victory And The Call To Discipleship

God wants to lead us in the way of victory (1 Chronicles 5:22). We dare not take His victory for granted if we are not willing to walk in the pathway of discipleship. As well as the promise of victory, there is also the warning against disobedience. If we are disobedient, we will be defeated (1 Chronicles 5:25-26). God doesn’t want us to be disobedient and defeated. He wants us to be obedient and victorious. With the promise of victory - ‘From victory to victory His army He shall lead’ - comes the call to discipleship - ‘Stand up! Stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the Cross!’ God is calling us to be faithful. He is warning us - ‘Do not love the world...If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him’. The Lord`s way is better than the world’s way - ‘Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind’ (1 John 2:15; Romans 12:2).

Works, Cold, Lukewarm

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Hear, O Israel

Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

In The Lord, We Have Full Redemption.

We are not to pray to God with superficial words that don’t mean very much to us. Our prayer is to be a real cry from the heart: ‘Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord’(Psalm 130:1). We are to ‘cry for mercy’ with a deep awareness of how sinful we really are: ‘If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?’(Psalm 130:3). We must come to God with deep humility - ‘My heart is not proud, O Lord’(Psalm 131:1). When we truly confess our sin, we receive God’s ‘unfailing love’and ‘forgiveness’(Psalm 130:4). ‘In the Lord’ we have ‘full redemption’(Psam 130:7). It is for ‘now’ - ‘The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives’. It is ‘for evermore’ - ‘But purer and higher and greater will be our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see!’. ‘Praise the Lord!... Give Him the glory!’(Psalm 131:3; Church Hymnary, 374).

Have A Wonderful Week

Monday comes with lots of unfolding things like Tuesday thru Friday's life responsibilities. Work, family, children, school, breakfast, lunches, dinners. Oh Gosh!

However, Monday thru Friday's also come with the daily opportunity to pray and lift our days up to God in prayer.

Prayer changes things!

Summertime, Heat Waves, Challenges

It's going to be a hot summer this year with record breaking temps. Ouch! Something that I am not looking forward to is not only the heat, but the electric bill for running the air conditioner. Yet, consider this. Many do not have air conditioning. Some don't even have shelter. The elerly suffer.

So, lets buy some more China, or maybe do another fly by with the big bird, or maybe pump another billion dollars into another failed corporation.

Blessings In The Midst Of Trials

Our world seems to be in the midst of some very challenging times. From economic woes to potential worldwide kaos. Actually looking back over many years, it all started unfolding years ago.

Yet through the many seasons of my life I have found that God is faithful to those who place their trust in Him. In the midst of the seasons of misfortune and difficulties sometimes it doesn't seem that way. However as the seasons unfold one come to see that God is truly faithful to those that trust in Him.

All things work together for good...

Life Begins at 40?

They say, "Life begins at 40." What about 41? What about 42? .......... Remember Abraham. God asked him to go to a another country (Genesis 12:1). Abraham was 75 years old (Genesis 12:4)! You're never too old to begin a new life with Jesus Christ.

Psalm 23:1

* The Lord is my Shepherd.
* The Lord is my Shepherd.
* The Lord is my Shepherd.
* The Lord is my Shepherd.
