God wants to lead us in the way of victory (1 Chronicles 5:22). We dare not take His victory for granted if we are not willing to walk in the pathway of discipleship. As well as the promise of victory, there is also the warning against disobedience. If we are disobedient, we will be defeated (1 Chronicles 5:25-26). God doesn’t want us to be disobedient and defeated. He wants us to be obedient and victorious. With the promise of victory - ‘From victory to victory His army He shall lead’ - comes the call to discipleship - ‘Stand up! Stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the Cross!’ God is calling us to be faithful. He is warning us - ‘Do not love the world...If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him’. The Lord`s way is better than the world’s way - ‘Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind’ (1 John 2:15; Romans 12:2).

Following Jesus
Jeremiah 32:1-25
‘Nothing is too hard for You’(17). We face many difficult situations. What are you to do when you feel you can take no more? Remember the Lord. Nothing is too hard for Him. Remember His promise: ‘The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one’(2 Thessalonians 3:3). Jesus calls us to follow Him. He calls us to follow Him. He warns us - ‘the way is hard’. It is Jesus- our loving Saviour - who calls us to follow Him. He does not leave us to go it alone. He gives us His strength - ‘My yoke is easy and my burden is light’(Matthew 4:19; 7:14; 11:30). ‘When the road is rough and steep, fix your eyes upon Jesus. He alone has power to keep. Fix your eyes upon Him’. You can ‘depend on ’Jesus. He is your ‘gracious Friend’. ‘He is faithful to the end’(Junior Praise, 279).
